Mum Carol, 69, looked elegant as she roamed the beautiful Berkshire grounds on the second day of Royal Ascot.

Her sophisticated sky blue, floral dress made her appear as if she was gliding effortlessly while mingling with guests.

And an understated, yet eye-catching, powder blue fascinator perfectly complimented the ensemble.

But, royal fashion fans noticed the grandmum-of-seven was wearing a subtle nod to the Princess of Wales.

The glamourous outfit was from Self-Portrait, a designer frequently chosen by her daughter.

Her heartwarming choice also bore a strong resemblance to the Elie Saab Resort collection dress Kate stunned in at Royal Ascot in 2019.

Both outfits featured chiffon sleeves and the same bow at their modest neckline.

It comes as Carol was spotted sharing a moment with Prince William at the event today.

The Prince of Wales, 41, spoke with both Kate’s parents, along with Zara and Mike Tindall.

He arrived in a carriage with Queen Camilla alongside the Earl and Countess of Halifax as they were cheered by onlookers.

It was the first time that Her Majesty and the heir have teamed up since they led senior royals at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March.

Wills beamed at fans as he made his way into the course in the traditional carriage procession ahead of today’s first race.

Mike Tindall and Prince William were seen sharing a laugh with their arms around one another.

The cheerful appearance comes just days after Wills and Kate stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Colour.

It was the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance on Saturday since Christmas – and husband Wills stood proudly alongside her.

Kate had revealed the day earlier that she would be at the King’s birthday celebrations, but bravely opened up about experiencing “good and bad days”.

The royal mum-of-three said she expected to be out of the public eye for a “few more months” while she continued to focus on her health.

Meanwhile, King Charles was in high spirits yesterday as he rolled into the first day of Royal Ascot on a horse drawn carriage.

His Majesty, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, was not present today, but will attend tomorrow and Saturday.
