THE King’s plans to make the Royal Household reach Net Zero by 2030 are underway — as he seeks to save cash.
The first solar panels have been installed at 1,000-year-old Windsor Castle after a project to fix the leaky roof.
Meanwhile, royal transport is becoming eco-friendly too, with a permanent sustainable aviation tank being built for choppers at RAF Odiham in Hants – with Royals taking fewer flights.
And the famous State Bentleys are set to be converted to run on biofuel before being replaced with electric versions.
The plans were revealed in a report, which also explored Charles’s hopes to save cash.
His Majesty will use profits from off-shore windfarm deals on Crown property to fund Buckingham Palace renovations.
And there also plans to rent out parts of St James’s Palace as commercial office space.
